NYT: “’08 Rivals Have Ties to Loan Giants”

Translation: “Rumours of the GSEs being reduced in size during the next administration are greatly exaggerated”

This is related to my previous posts about (specifically) the financial industry backing Barack Obama has received so far (a link to my earliest post on the subject).

For all of Obama’s qualities, let’s not pretend that he’s an American politician without precedent.  Really, he’s not so different from the ones that came before (and I’m talking to both those on the left that have deified him as something approaching a revolutionary, and to those on the right who have vilified him as something approaching a revolutionary).

Sidenote:  Kitty Bennett sounds like she should be a character from Archie Comics.
